Statelessness-Focused Events Sponsored by the Global Alliance at the Global Refugee Forum Progress Review

La Revisión de Progreso del Foro Mundial sobre los Refugiados se llevará a cabo del 15 al 17 de diciembre de 2025 en Ginebra, reuniendo a líderes mundiales para dar seguimiento a los avances en el cumplimiento de los compromisos adquiridos en el Foro Mundial sobre los Refugiados e impulsar el Pacto Mundial sobre los Refugiados. We’re pleased to co-sponsor the Global Refugee Forum Progress Review Linked Event “Solutions to Statelessness: Multistakeholder Action to Achieve Equal Nationality Rights for All”, taking place on 16 December (8:15–9:30 CET) at UNHCR Headquarters in Geneva and online.

As the international community convenes for the GRF Progress Review, this event will highlight concrete solutions to statelessness and discriminatory nationality laws, recent momentum for reform, and the crucial role of affected activists, civil society, states, and UN agencies in driving progress.

Speakers include leading activists with lived experience, champion states, civil society actors and UN partners.

Nos complace ser anfitriones del evento paralelo de revisión de progreso del Foro Mundial sobre los Refugiados. “Legal Identity for All: Addressing Statelessness to Achieve SDGs”, que tendrá lugar el 17 de diciembre (8:15–9:30 CET) en el CICG (Sala 6+7).

Achieving legal identity for all, including birth registration, is a global commitment under SDG 16.9. But legal identity cannot exist without nationality. This event will explore why addressing statelessness is essential to realizing this goal and ensuring no one is left behind.

We’ll bring together UNHCR, UNICEF, the Governments of the Philippines and Rwanda, and civil society organizations to:
– Highlight the connection between legal identity, nationality, and statelessness
– Review progress under the Multistakeholder Pledge on Ending Statelessness
– Share good practices for inclusive ID systems
– Show how multistakeholder action through the Global Alliance to End Statelessness accelerates SDG progress
