The UNHCR Global NGO Consultations Side Событие on Digital Identity and Statelessness
We are pleased to announce the upcoming side event, “Digital Identity and Statelessness: Towards Inclusive Digital Transformation,” organized as part of the 2026 UNHCR–NGO Global Consultations. Co-organized by Nationality For All with the Поддерживать of 9 regional and international organizations, this session will take place via Zoom Meetings. It provides a critical opportunity for participants to examine how digital identity systems and digitalized civil registration impact stateless persons and those at risk of statelessness.

Launch of the Global Recommendations on Nationality and Statelessness in the Context of Climate Change
The launch of the Global Recommendations on Nationality and Statelessness in the Context of Climate Change will take place on 22 September 2026, 11:30-12:30 CEST. Developed jointly by UNHCR and the Peter McMullin Centre on Statelessness (PMCS), the Новый Global Recommendations provide practical guidance for governments and other stakeholders to protect the right to a nationality, prevent and reduce statelessness, and safeguard the rights of stateless people in the context of climate change.

Событие to mark the 65th Anniversary of the 1961 Convention on the Reduction of Statelessness
On 2 September 2026, 10:00-11:30 CEST, the Глобальный альянс по искоренению безгражданства will host a virtual event to mark the 65th anniversary of the 1961 Convention on the Reduction of Statelessness, the principal international treaty dedicated to preventing statelessness and ensuring every person’s right to a nationality. Held under the theme “Preventing and Resolving Statelessness in Practice”, the event will bring together representatives of governments, regional organizations, UN agencies, civil society, academia, stateless-led organizations and other partners to reflect on progress made in preventing and reducing statelessness, and to discuss opportunities to strengthen implementation of safeguards against statelessness worldwide

Мы рады объявить о предстоящих вторых ежеквартальных заседаниях трех тематических рабочих групп Глобального альянса (ТРГ), которые пройдут в виртуальном формате через Zoom 27 мая, 3 и 9 июня 2026 года. Эти заседания предоставят членам Альянса возможность обменяться опытом, обсудить текущие инициативы и внести свой вклад в совместную работу в рамках планов работы ТРГ до 2026 года.
Все три встречи будут открыты для всех членов Глобального альянса по искоренению безгражданства.
