Network Labs
Regional and thematic approaches to addressing statelessness can foster solidarity, enhance visibility, and promote more coordinated action among stakeholders. The Network Labs are a distinct Alliance workstream serving as a platform to convene members around shared priorities. Through inclusive dialogue and peer exchange, the Network Labs aim to strengthen collective efforts and advance solutions to statelessness in diverse contexts.
Network Labs serve as laboratories for deeper engagement, creating a space where Global Alliance Members can dive deeper into specific thematic and/or regional issues to identify effective strategies to advance permanent solutions to statelessness. The Network Labs are also intended to support the other Alliance workstreams, including the work of Thematic Working Groups, and the Solution Seeker programme.
The key objectives include:
- Strengthening the capacity of Global Alliance members to develop and implement regional and country-specific strategies.
- Enhancing knowledge-sharing, collaboration and partnerships.
- Accelerating the pace of pledge implementation and securing solutions to statelessness.

Timed around the launch of the Global Alliance at ExCom on 14 October, the first Regional Network Lab signals the intention of the Global Alliance to act quickly to foster exchange and learning in pursuit of its objectives.
We are pleased to announce the upcoming Regional Expert Roundtable on the Prevention of Childhood Statelessness in Europe and Central Asia, co-organized by the UNHCR Regional Bureau for Europe, the Council of Europe (European Committee on Legal Co-operation – CDCJ), the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), including the High Commissioner on National Minorities (HCNM) and the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), and the European Network on Statelessness (ENS). This in-person event will take place on 20–21 October 2026 at the premises of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) in Warsaw, Poland.
