The MENA Statelessness Network (Hawiati), Salam for Democracy and Human Rights (SALAM DHR), and the Global Campaign for Equal Nationality Rights (GCENR), members of the Global Alliance to End Statelessness (GA), recognize the importance of the GA’s mission and activities in ending statelessness and advancing equal nationality rights for all. Building on their work and commitment to this cause, Hawiati, SALAM DHR and GCENR are hosting an online event by invitation to introduce the GA to civil society organizations (CSOs), stateless persons/persons impacted by discriminatory nationality laws, activists, law firms, research centers and academics across the region.

The first Regional Network Lab titled “Strengthening trans-regional exchange and knowledge-sharing to support change-making efforts”, co-organized by UNHCR, as the Secretariat of the Global Alliance, and the European Network on Statelessness, will take place from 15-16 October 2024 in Geneva, Switzerland.

The High-Level Segment (HLS) on Statelessness, taking place on 14 October as part of the 75th Session of the Executive Committee of the High Commissioner’s Programme (ExCom), is just one week away! This most significant multilateral global convening on statelessness since 2019 will officially launch the Global Alliance to End Statelessness, the collaborative multistakeholder platform bringing together states, civil society and stateless-led organizations, regional intergovernmental organizations, UN agencies and international organizations, to achieve a world where everyone enjoys the right to nationality without discrimination.
