Centre for Relief and Rehabilitation (CRR)

The Centre for Relief and Rehabilitation (CRR) is a community-based organisation working in the Kachugaon Block of Kokrajhar district, Assam. We focus on rights and entitlements, education, gender equality, and livelihood support. Our work is rooted in the everyday concerns of marginalized communities, including Bengali Muslim, Bodo, Adivasi, Santal, and other rural groups who often face exclusion from basic public services.

A key part of our work involves addressing risk of statelessness. Many families in the region struggle with gaps in documentation, limited awareness of legal procedures, and the fear of exclusion from citizenship processes. CRR supports these communities by providing guidance on securing identity documents, linking households with legal aid networks, and facilitating access to welfare schemes. Our approach is community-led, emphasizing dignity, awareness, and collective problem-solving.
