Thematic Working Groups

The Thematic Working Groups (TWGs), one of the key activities of the Global Alliance, are the forums to advance solutions to statelessness and to improve the enjoyment of rights of stateless people, primarily through the sharing of good and best practices by Global Alliance members, and the exploration of strategies and collaborative initiatives.

The thematic focuses of these groups will be established based on topics which the majority of Global Alliance stakeholders consider to be a need for intensified action. From the onset the thematic focuses will be interlinked to the relevant SDGs to create synergies and garner wider support.

Based on the stakeholder consultations conducted to establish the Global Alliance, the three inaugural TWGs will focus on:

• Childhood statelessness
• Discrimination in nationality laws and policies
• The Rights of Stateless Persons
