LADA Institute

LADA Institute’s decision to join the Global Alliance to End Statelessness is fundamentally rooted in our core conviction that ‘without a functioning legal system and equitable justice delivery, there will be no development in our communities’. For us, Statelessness is the most extreme expression of legal failure, denying individuals the most basic human right-the right to a nationality. This right is the prerequisite for accessing justice and participating in development. An individual without nationality is essentially a legal non-entity, barred from formal employment, education, healthcare, and property rights. By joining the Alliance, LADA commits to transforming this legal invisibility into legal recognition, which is essential for achieving dignified lives and inclusive growth.

LADA brings to the Alliance a demonstrated history of successful engagement with complex legal and policy issues surrounding citizenship and statelessness. These previous works include simplifying citizenship laws for minorities
