Family for Every Child
Family For Every Child is an alliance of 47 organisations working across 38 countries, whose vision is for a world in which children and families everywhere have access to the support they need to survive and thrive. Our goals are: • Enabling children to grow up in permanent, safe and caring families • Ensuring a range of high-quality, appropriate temporary alternative care choices for children • Taking steps to prevent children from having to live outside of any adult care, without the care of families or other carers, and in the interim, protecting these boys and girls. To reach these goals we connect globally through our network and work together on research, knowledge exchange and campaigning. Our key areas are focus are on children on the move, children affected by sexual violence and supporting kinship care. Members of our children on the move thematic group have been working on issues related to children who are stateless and who are at risk of statelessness through barriers to birth registration, with a particular focus on the issue as it pertains the child migrants. In September 2024 the group carried out the ‘Nationality Required’ campaign (https://familyforeverychild.org/what-we-do/topic-hubs/children-on-the-move/nationality-required/) which brought together stories of statelessness and of risks of statelessness from organisations, families and children across 6 different countries. Each organisation carried out campaign activities in their respective countries, and the group plans to continue and expand this work together and with more members of the alliance as well as with organisations outside of the alliance. |
