Immigrant Council of Ireland Independent Law Centre

The Immigrant Council of Ireland is a member of the European Network on Statelessness, and is the national contact point for the ENS Stateless Index Ireland country profile. We advocate for access to civil legal aid and improved implementation of relevant stateless conventions in Ireland, including the introduction of a rights compliant stateless determination procedure in Ireland. This includes advocacy and awareness raising regarding the current issues faced by stateless persons in Ireland and making relevant submissions to international monitoring bodies, such as Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) and Committee on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). As a member of ENS, we recognise the importance of transnational networks to share information, knowledge and expertise to make recommendations at national level to advance the rights of migrants and stateless persons living in Ireland.
