OMIRAS aims to be a platform for research, animation and dissemination of research. Not expressing any political opinion, it offers a framework for exchange where ideas and opinions can be freely expressed in order to promote the necessary dialogue in matters of human mobility. Goals
Research Observatory on International Migration, Refugees, Stateless Persons and Asylum (OMIRAS) aims to:
To create a place of consultation promoting reflection, research on international migration, asylum and statelessness and a critical perspective in the field of human mobility.
Develop knowledge in areas relating to international migration, asylum and statelessness
Provide a favorable place for supervision for students who carry out their research on migration, asylum and statelessness;
Create interdisciplinary synergies by setting up a network of researchers, academics, experts and resources in the field and developing partnerships with civil society;
Share and highlight the results of student research for the benefit of the UQAM scientific community;
Support research and develop reflection on issues relating to international migration, asylum and statelessness;
To encourage the provision of external resources by welcoming professors and researchers from other Canadian and non-Canadian universities working in the field of international migration, asylum and statelessness and working from a critical perspective ;
Promote the dissemination of knowledge and multidisciplinary exchanges through activities linked to human mobility: conferences, conferences, seminars, among others.
