Peace Point-Myanmar (PPM)

Peace Point-Myanmar (PPM) is a Rohingya community-based non-profit human Rights organization, established in 2016 by Htet Swe, a Rohingya activist, in cooperation with a group of committed and dedicated young people. Our mission is to promote democratic values, human rights, civic engagement, and peace through civic education, inter-faith dialogue, human rights training, campaign initiatives, research, and advocacy. PPM is working to secure rights for ethnic, religious, and marginalized minorities from Rakhine State. Hence, PPM is known for promoting the voices and rights of marginalized communities, in particular the Rohingya community. We are working with communities that have been vilified, discriminated against, and marginalized in society across Myanmar.
Peace Point-Myanmar is dedicated to educating, inspiring, and empowering women and youth from diverse backgrounds to become leaders for democratic and social change. PPM focuses on building the capacity of an emerging generation of youth and women to engage in leadership roles in their communities by providing training and educational opportunities. The organization utilizes education to empower marginalized communities, including religious and ethnic minorities, as well as marginalized individuals, such as women, disabled individuals, and members of the LGBTQ community. Our work promotes and protects human rights of stateless people, fight against racial discrimination, and equality.
PPM operates programs predominantly in Rakhine State, in Yangon as well as in Bangladesh Rohingya refugee camps.
