PIC – Legal Center for the Protection of Human Rights and the Environment is a Slovenian non-governmental organization specializing in legal advocacy in the area of human rights. The organization focuses on migration and asylum, protection of vulnerable groups and environmental issues. Our activities are aimed at identifying gaps and achieving systemic change in the field of human rights through advocacy, public campaigns and involvement in policy-making processes. As co-founders of the Legal Network for the Protection of Democracy, we are also committed to protecting democratic principles, the rule of law and access to justice for different users. In the area of asylum and migration, PIC’s main activities focus on legal representation, advocacy and strategic litigation. PIC provides legal assistance and representation free of charge to asylum seekers, refugees and migrants, including stateless persons. PIC actively addresses the systemic shortcomings in the protection of stateless persons in Slovenia through various activities and advocates for better protection and compliance with international and European standards at national level.
