Youth Association for Development (YAD)

The Youth Association for Development (YAD) Pakistan is eager to join the Global Alliance to End Statelessness as a committed advocate for human rights and social justice in Baluchistan, a region deeply affected by statelessness and marginalization. YAD has over two decades of experience addressing the challenges faced by vulnerable communities, including refugees, minorities, and stateless individuals, through a combination of advocacy, capacity building, and grassroots interventions.
Statelessness in Baluchistan is a critical issue, particularly among Afghan refugees, undocumented minorities, and internally displaced populations. These groups face systemic barriers that deny them the right to nationality, limiting access to education, healthcare, livelihoods, and legal protections. YAD has worked tirelessly to address these challenges by assisting individuals in obtaining documentation, advocating for inclusive policies, and raising awareness about the rights of stateless people.

Joining the Global Alliance will enable YAD to amplify its efforts through collaboration with like-minded organizations and stakeholders. As a member, YAD aims to contribute its on-the-ground expertise to the Alliance’s initiatives while learning from global best practices and innovative solutions. The Alliance’s platform will empower YAD to build stronger networks, share resources, and co-create strategies to eradicate statelessness in Baluchistan and beyond.

YAD is particularly motivated to participate in the Alliance’s Regional Network Labs and Thematic Working Groups, as these initiatives align with its mission to address legal and policy gaps that perpetuate statelessness. By joining the Alliance, YAD seeks to strengthen its advocacy efforts, mobilize political will, and promote sustainable solutions that uphold the dignity and rights of stateless individuals.

Ending statelessness is not only a human rights imperative but also a pathway to inclusive development and social cohesion. YAD is committed to contributing to the Global Alliance’s mission by acting as a catalyst for change in Pakistan and collaborating with international stakeholders to consign statelessness to history.
